World renown psychiatrist Dr Peter Breggin, warns that most doctors DO NOT tell you of the true side effects of psychiatric drugs.
He states psychiatric drugs are more dangerous than you are told, and if you knew of the dangerous implications and mood/personality changing capabilities these drugs have – You would NEVER start taking them.
He also believes that many doctors would stop prescribing them if they new the full truth…
So Why Do Doctors Prescribe These Dangerous Psychiatric Drugs If They Are So Bad?
Dr Breggin has a very plausible reason for why so many doctors continue to prescribe these dangerous drugs – The information the doctors are given comes from the drug company that has the most profit to make by marketing these drugs.
Dr Breggin has mounting evidence of drug companies lying about the safety of their drugs, and has won many lawsuits against drug companies for with holding information. He has also won many lawsuits for individuals effected by these psychiatric drugs.
This includes over 150 lawsuits for claimants against drug company Eli Lily for the dangerous effects caused from Prozac – a drug that is still widely prescribed today. Various lawsuits Dr Breggin has given – See expert scientific testimony.
The effects of many psychiatric drugs enhance:
- Changes to thought patterns – irrational thinking
- Suicidal thoughts/tendencies
- Violent tendencies – including self harm and harming others
- Impulsive behavior
- Various neurological problems
- Birth defects (pregnant mothers)
Alarmingly these drugs often cause the problems they are meant to fix, can be very addictive, and often have more dangerously severe life threatening effects when people suddenly stop taking them.
If you are currently taking psychiatric drugs DO NOT just stop taking them.
The withdrawal effects can be extremely damaging and life threatening. If you want to come off psychiatric drugs – SEEK Professional Medical Assistance.
As time goes on more studies are confirming the above, as well as what long-term use can cause. Long term use of various psychiatry drugs can cause brain shrinkage, seizures, worse mental problems, reduced height and weight (particularly in adolescents).
Dr Breggin points out that these drugs create multiple brain imbalances that your brain never had to start with. For a more thorough look into the effects of psychiatric drugs Dr Breggin has written – Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal: A Guide for Prescribers, Therapists, Patients and their Families.
