History of the Horoscope

Astrology is the oldest system of a universal wisdom for self-knowledge and awareness to enhance your future.  Many see this as both a science and an art.  In the ancient times man watched the sky, observing the movements of planets and other heavenly objects.  They kept records of these movements and were able to to make accurate predictions of the future.
The word ‘horoscope‘  originated from the Latin combination of two words:
Horo – means hour,  Scope – means view
Overall meaning being “View of the hour”
The horoscope incorporates planets, signs, aspects, houses, and other points that reflect potential characteristics and patterns.
Some people think the horoscope writes our destiny in stone with out room for change. Not true!
The horoscope offers insight and awareness about these potentials and their uses.
It is up to the individual, how they use these potentials.  A personal choice.

The Zodiac – Astrologists divide a year into 12 periods, during each period the sun being in a constellation area. So everyone has a zodiac sign according to the period his/her birthday is in. The 12 signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. The different signs of the zodiac represent different characteristics and talents.

Were you born on the Cusp?
Your zodiac sign generally influences your basic personality.  The personality most people see in you.  If you were born on the cusp of two zodiac signs, this means you have influence from the two different signs.

The zodiac sign that will most influence you, depends on what time and place you were born in.  The closer you are to the zodiac transition date, the more balanced the influence of the two different signs will be. The further you were born from the moment of the zodiac transition date, the more one sign will be dominant than the other.

The only way to really know for sure that you’re on the cusp is to have an accurate chart drawn up that includes: Your date of birth, the time of birth and the location you were born in.

A forecast  interprets how the planetary relationships may influence all aspects of life including your finances, love life and health.
Astrologers refer to the horoscope as the astrological chart of a person or a moment in time, which is calculated from the planetary positions in either the sidereal or tropical Zodiac.
The calculations used are based on the date, place and time of your birth. Hence this is why a personal horoscope is so personal. It’s like a fingerprint.
